The Salvage Vessel is between 100 and 130 metres long and is equipped with Dynamic Positioning, underwater positioning systems, ROVs and the remotely operated heavy salvage equipment.
The salvage vessel moves on to the wreck location by using the exact GPS co-ordinates given by the survey team and confirming by subsequent ROV inspection.
The ROVs and Subsea's proprietary heavy salvage equipment are deployed from the salvage ship and are designed to open the wreck (should it be necessary to increase the access area, grabs are used to cut away parts of the deck or clear obstructions) and remove the cargo.
A grab unit is positioned above the cargo hold and descends into the ship to remove the cargo which is then placed into skips that are retrieved to the surface.
Rule of Thumb: 100% Gross yields c.70% to Subsea before costs.
